How to Register for Activities
Monthly meetings are walk-in (no registration required), but most other activities require registration beforehand. Many events are held at members' homes, so we need to send you the address and contact you if plans change.

Please include: your name, phone number, which activity you're registering for, and how many people are attending.
Types of Activities
We run a variety of activities throughout the year to suit different interests and schedules. If Tuesday night meetings don't work for you, there are plenty of weekend options.
Monthly Meetings
When: Last Tuesday of each month (except December)
Time: 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm
Where: Community Hall, 24 Sims Road, Walkervale
Cost: $3 members / $5 guests
Registration: Not required – just walk in!
Our main social gathering with guest speakers, Q&A forums, the veggie challenge, lucky door prizes, and a shared supper. A great way to meet fellow gardeners and learn something new each month.

Workshops
When: Usually weekends, times vary
Where: Members' homes (address provided on registration)
Cost: Usually free – some may have a small materials fee.

Hands-on learning sessions focused on practical skills. Workshops are informal, friendly, and a fantastic way to deepen your knowledge while making new friends.
Popular workshop topics include:
- Seed saving and propagation
- Composting and worm farming
- Preserving – jams, pickles, ferments
- Building garden beds and structures
- Natural pest management
- Soil health and biology

Garden Visits
When: Usually weekends, 1-2 hours
Where: Members' gardens around the Bundaberg region
Cost: Free
Registration: Required
See organic principles in action by visiting members' gardens. These informal tours are a wonderful opportunity to get inspiration, ask questions, and see what grows well in our local Bundaberg climate.

Field Trips
When: Occasional – usually weekends, half or full day
Where: Farms, nurseries, and locations of interest (wider region)
Cost: Varies – may include transport and entry fees
Registration: Required (advance payment usually needed)
Day trips to farms, nurseries, garden shows, and other destinations of interest. These involve more planning and may include carpooling or hiring a bus for more remote locations.
Recent field trips have included:
- Rare Dragon Fruit Farm at Agnes Water
- Queensland Garden Show in Nambour
- Local organic farms and regenerative properties

Working Bees
When: As organised – usually weekend mornings
Where: Members' gardens
Cost: Free
Registration: Required
Collaborative sessions where members help each other with larger garden projects – building beds, clearing land, setting up irrigation, or tackling big jobs that are easier with many hands.
Special Events
Throughout the year, we hold special social events, including:
- Christmas Party (December) – Our end-of-year celebration
- Annual General Meeting – Elect committee members and review the year : March 31st 2026
